Mini Flute Festival
6 -7 JUNE 2010

The British Flute Society and the Royal Scottish
Academy of Music and Drama are delighted to
announce a collaborative two-day Flute Festival
taking place at the RSAMD on Sunday and
Monday 6 and 7 June 2010

.
The Festival is excited to welcome world–
renowned Jacques Zoon as its guest international
artist along with RSAMD’s own luminary, Ruth
Morley and Katherine Bryan, principal flautist of
the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and
RSAMD colleague, who will also perform to
complete this tremendous and diverse line-up.

The Festival will offer a wide range of activities
including recitals and masterclasses, as well as flute
choirs and trade stands. The event culminates with
a final evening recital given by Jacques Zoon, with
the pianist Scott Mitchell.

The Annual General Meeting of The British Flute Society will be held during the BFS Convention at 8.30 am on Saturday 21 August 2010 in the Lecture Theatre at the Royal Northern College of Music,  124 Oxford Road, Manchester, M13 9RD

Election and Re-election of Council Members

Council Nominations are required for the following posts:

The BFS is looking for enthusiastic flute players who would be able to contribute to the running of the Society by becoming a member of the Council.  Council meetings are generally held in London four times per year.  Input between meetings can be chosen to fit around your schedule and availability.  If you feel you have ideas or experience to offer, please contact Anna Munks, the Society’s Secretary, for further information. In the event that there are more nominations than vacancies, voting will take place at the AGM.  Members of the BFS who will not be able to attend the AGM may obtain a postal voting form (which will include details of all nominations received) by application to the Secretary.  The nomination form should be returned before 16 July 2010 and postal voting slips by 9 August 2010.  Proxy voting is allowed (by appointment in writing).
