Plans are well under way for the 2014 Convention, which will be held at Warwick Arts Centre, just outside Coventry.  Warwick Arts Centre is just over an hour from London Euston and fifteen minutes from Birmingham Airport by fast train. There is free parking and sports centre access for anyone staying in University accommodation.

The theme for this convention is Music with Friends, inspired by the friendships that have developed through flute playing for so many of us. The theme takes on two main strands within the programming; the artists are encouraged to perform together, both in shared recitals and ensemble playing, and convention delegates will be given opportunities to play together, socialise and share inspirational musical memories.

As usual, there will be a wide range of recitals, workshops, foyer performances, flute choirs and masterclasses, with an early music day on Saturday and a number of events aimed particularly towards teachers on Friday. Artists include a wide range of regular convention favourites and new faces, with a focus on a younger generation of performers, some of whom have not played in the UK before. World-class headline recitalists include Katherine Bryan, Robert Dick, Marina Piccinini, Quintessenz, Peter Verhoyen and Adam Walker.

We look forward to seeing you at what we hope will be the flute event of the year!
